Your Donations at Work

We have made huge strides over the last few years towards achieving our original vision of providing quality fields for all baseball and softball participants.  Last fall we planted seventy-one trees at the Monarch Park facility.  These trees were donated by several nurseries along the Front Range.  We hope these trees will provide a more enjoyable experience for the fans as well as a wind break for the fields.  This spring we plan to put down new infields at Monarch Fields #5 and #6 where the Bubblegum Baseball, Rookie Baseball, and U8 Softball Leagues play.  When completed, all of the infields at Monarch will have received upgrades within the last three years.  We will put in full size softball infields so the fields can be used by any league to practice or play on.

We have two major projects to complete at the Monarch Fields.  The first project is to build a permanent structure for equipment, bathrooms, and concessions where the storage sheds are currently located.  The second project is to add irrigation to Fields #5 and #6 so that grass can be grown on both the fields and spectator areas.  This will greatly improve the experience which previously could feel like the Sahara Desert at times.  A portion of our Annual Bat Blast and other fundraising efforts will be put toward these projects over the next few years.

Every year we have various repairs and maintenance on our mowers, fences, irrigation, and just about anything else we use on the fields.  Donations are always useful to help cover these expenses.

We are always looking for ways to do field maintenance more efficiently and effectively.  Often this requires new and/or additional equipment.  We would like to upgrade some of our current mowers to zero radius turn mowers so the fields can be mowed more evenly.  We would also like a groomer to provide a more consistent playing surface on the infields.  The groomer would require a larger tractor or a utility type vehicle to pull it.  Since we have two facilities, we really need two of everything to make our operations most efficient.

Any donation amount is appreciated, or if you have any special skills or extra time to donate during the week NYS would be most grateful.   We are always in need of a welder, small engine repair, carpentry, and manual labor.  To learn about more volunteer opportunities at NYS please see Volunteer.
