NYS Scholarship Information, Policy and Procedure
NiwotYouth Sports takes great pride in offering exceptional team sport opportunities for all families in the St. Vrain school district. We strongly believe that our community gets better and stronger when our children have the opportunity to develop a sense of teamwork, confidence and self-esteem through participation in team sports.
At NYS we are committed to doing everything possible to make sure that no child is denied participation in our recreational sport programs due to financial hardship, To the extent that we can, we offer scholarships to those who would not otherwise be able to participate in our team sports. Scholarships are limited by the level of donations and sponsorships that we receive – which varies from season to season. As such, each scholarship is determined on a case by case basis and is usually limited to just a portion of a registration fee depending on the level of need and our ability fund current requests.
In consideration for scholarship assistance, it is our hope that awardees will volunteer when NYS puts out a call for help. We will not specifically monitor participation, but hopefully you will help when needed. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and we need help in order to maintain the great programs that we have developed over the years.
So what is required and How do I apply for a scholarship?
We want and encourage NYS families that need assistance with registration fees to apply for an NYS scholarship. Our goal is to be as respectful and non-intrusive as possible and you can be assured that ALL inquiries and assistance will be held in strict confidence. Please send an email to the NYS executive director requesting a scholarship and address the following questions:
- Have you played with NYS in the past? If so, how many years have you been with us?
- How many sports do you participate in with NYS each year?
- How much of the registration fee can you pay?
- Are you able to assist NYS in our mission by volunteering on occasion?
You will be notified by email if/when your scholarship has been approved. You can then log back into the registration page to make any outstanding payment if applicable, and the registration is complete.
