The Niwot Youth Sports (NYS) NFL Flag Football League provides a fun, competitive, and developmental football experience for boys and girls in kindergarten through 8th grade. NFL Flag Football gives young athletes the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football while improving speed, agility, coordination, and overall athleticism in a positive and supportive environment.
At NYS, our coaches focus on more than just football skills. Players learn the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and healthy competition, helping them build confidence both on and off the field.
Players may register as a free agent and be placed on a team through the league draft process, or they may register to play with a specific team. To maximize playing time and player development, the league’s preferred roster size is eight players, with a maximum roster size of 10 players per team. The head coach has the final say on his/her roster.

Practices
Teams typically practice one to two times per week for approximately one hour at:
- Biff Warren Athletic Complex
- Monarch Park
- Grange
Practice schedules are determined by individual coaches and field availability.

Niwot Youth Sports follows the official NFL FLAG 5-on-5 playing rules, with a few league-specific modifications designed to enhance player development and provide the best experience for athletes at every age level.

Punt, Pass & Kick Combine
Before the season begins, join us for our annual Punt, Pass & Kick Combine at Niwot High School on August 9th. Players will rotate through seven skill stations and compete alongside others in their grade level:

This event is a great opportunity for players to showcase their athletic abilities, meet fellow players, and get excited for the upcoming season.
